Back from hell: Kodak-JK new mirrorless camera to come within the year!

The heavily in crisis company Kodak just came back to life! According to Amateur Photographer: “A Kodak-branded interchangeable lens camera will be among a series of products that bosses say will be launched as part of a licensing deal it has struck with manufacturer JK Imaging Ltd.”
And Kodak manager Dennis Olbrich said that a compact system camera is “part of the portfolio“! TO be clear, Kodak will license their name to JK Imaging and collaborate but not directing them.

Of the name “Kodak”, which is what they now try to make some small income with, for some time, before becoming history?

.
Maybe they’ve sold wide converter patent to Metabones, so they have some funds at the moment

Joining an already existent mirrorless system or creating a FF one, a new non-FF mirrorless system is very pointless and headed to failure.

Give us the real deal already.

Unlike with microprocessors, you don’t get scaling benefits since the sensor always has to be the same size (computer chips keep getting smaller or higher density, a full frame sensor always has to be the same size). I think you will see full frame stick around a long time as the people willing to pay 2x or 3x as much will always want the best.

Would the JK cams be disposable ones? LOL.

That is no more significant than Singer sewing machines and Bell & Howell accessories designed and manufactured in Asia and then sold in the West under previously prestigious US brand names. That’s not Singer and that’s not Bell & Howell! The sadness surrounding the Kodak debacle is that it could and should have been the “Sony” and the “Fuji” of today producing “breeding edge” digital sensors. At one point Kodak had the resources and technology to, as Fuji successfully did, transition from film to digital. Now, it appears that nothing is left except for Kodak to sell brand name recognition. Enjoy your new “Kodak” P&S camera.

Hopefully not “joke”

5 months ago |According to the press release, the ceo of jk imaging is a Miami based individual whose business seems to be a distributor of cameras and electronics. The address on the press release is a los angeles company that produces GE branded cameras.
The ‘back from’ in the title seems a bit premature.

The Kodak JK ???
It’s either a PR move to get a silly name a lot of talk
