Adobe 4.4 coming on Monday with much improved X-trans support for Fuji!

Fuji owners will be happy to hear this: On Monday Adobe will release an update that will finally bring a much more advanced support for that unique Fuji X-trans RAW sensor. That is a news most Fuji users were waiting to hear for over a year now!

4 months ago |It better be great! or it won’t look good for Adobe or Fuji! It is pointless to come out with less than stellar support, as it taints their reputation and annoys customers. But, for Fuji, it is very important for there to be excellent raw support soon, as people have been waiting too long…in my opinion, Fuji should step up and do it themselves (a simple ACR like converter, even if they sell it for cheap), as they can’t afford to keep coming up short. With the next-generation of x series cameras likely coming soon (upgrades to x-E1/x pro 1), which should resolve the kinks of the current series, a beautiful selection of lenses soon to be released (hopefully soon!), they must resolve the raw conversion issues – nobody wants mediocre support or a camera with great potential that may never be reached…

ps. Fujirumors did not say ‘much’ improved, just ‘better’ x-trans support.

Come one already Adobe!!

4 months ago |It should be Sigma’s responsability to disclose the specifics of its sensor, instead of forcing software company to reverse-engeneer every single foveon sensor in order to create a decent support…
I mean, it’s completely crazy what these Japanese companies are doing with proprietary sensors…

4 months ago |You can always blame Adobe, but every company have limited resources. Which camera would you give high priority? A new model from a well known brand with an easy to decode RAW-format or a modell from Sigma with almost no market share and a RAW-format that needs complicated color transformations different from everything else on the market.

4 months ago |I hear you. I think also the main problem lies with Sigma. And for Adobe it is not a priority, but it should be because I think Foveon is the future of sensors. (or spin offs from this technology at least) So both Sigma and Adobe, get of your butts right now. Sigma, your software is horrible compared to Lightroom, please give us the OPTION to choose our raw software at least.
