New roundup of reviews (GH3, RX1,X-E1 and more)

Photokina brought us plenty of new cameras and some of those are shipping right in these days. So let’s make a short roundup!

Sony RX1:
Early preorders are shipping via Sonystore DEUKFRITESNLSEFICH in Europe (picture on top shows a “German” RX1). And we already have plenty of RAW and JPG images you can download and analyze at DPreview, DC.watch (translation here), Yodbashi (translation here), Focus Numerique (translation here) and Steve Huff.

MFT P.S: E-PM2 got DxOmarked.

Fuji X-E1:
The X-E1 kits just started shipping in US for example on eBay (via Slidoo).
Trustedreviews published the full X-E1 review. 25daysoff.com made a nice reportage. And Fujirumors rpeorted about a first X-E1 bug too.

Ok now that we have these new cameras we are ready to see what’s coming in 5 weeks when the CES show in las Vegas will have his showdown. In that case I expect some new entry level mirrorles scamera ot be announced by Sony-Samsung.

NEX-6 gets DxOmarked.

DxOmark (Click here) published their NEX-6 sensor test. And yes…it has the same sensor as the NEX-5r and NEX-5n. And Photographyblog tested the new NEX-5R: “While it looks almost identical to its predecessor, the new 180° tilting LCD screen, faster hybrid auto-focusing, wi-fi connectivity, downloadable apps and a more refined interface make the NEX-5R a great mid-range mirrorlesscamera.

My guess is that Sony will bring a new NEX-7 successor as next. And I think it’s going to be a sort of update like we had from the 5n to the 5r!

P:S.: You can save a small $30 on two Demo NEX-6 on eBay US (via Slidoo).

Sony RX1 gets tested at Dpreview (and some complains by LLoyd Chambers).

DPreview (Click here)posted the full RX1 studio samples shots and the results are quite stunning. The differences are small but it looks like the RX1 has a small edge over the rest of the DSLR FF cameras. The real issue of the camera may be the total price as explained by Lloyd ChambersThe RX1 is a super premium camera, but it ought to be $2999 with all the accessories below except perhaps the EVF (which ought to be built-in)— upping profit margins by charging for all the stuff any serious shooter needs is a game I don’t like to see played, not to the tune of ~$1000.

The only advice I can give to LLoyd is to buy the $7 cheap Chinese metal hood () instead of the original $170 Sony hood!

Anyway, imagine what kind of Big bang an interchangeable lens version of the RX would be! I would buy it and you?

New Jackar 34mm f/1.8 for sale on eBay.

The new Jackar 34mm f/1.8 lens for E-Mount or MFT-mount is now for the first time in Stock via eBay (Click here). As we have learned this isn’t really a completely newly designed lens. They rather took the classic C-mount 35mm f/1.7 lens and tweaked it by changing material, adding a lens and making it use a native E or MFT mount. You can read more about the lens at Snapshooter.jackarlens.com. Image samples are on Flickr.
